Plocamium cartilagineum

Narrow, compressed, cartilaginous, bright scarlet fronds, to 300 mm lo, tufted, much divided. Branchi irregularly alternate, pinnules alternately secund in twos to fives, with acute apices, lowest of each set a simple spur, others increasily stly pectinate.
